PSYCHOLOGY

Professional degree: Licenciate in Psychology.
Professional incumbencies:

  • Study and research.
  • Diagnosis and psychotherapy (individual, couple, family and group) according to different theoretical models.
  • Construction of methods, techniques and instruments for psychological evaluation.
  • Vocational and occupational orientation.
  • Organization and management of programmes of prevention and promotion of mental health.
  • Participation in Institutions and teams dedicated to the treatment of psychological problems.
  • Assistance and counselling in the Laboural, Educational, Juridical and Clinical spheres.
POSGRADUATE CAREERS
DOCTORATE IN PSYCHOLOGY

Academic degree:  PHD in Psychology.
Planned for graduates of university careers of not less than four years length, it is a personalized programme, of open appliance. The aim is to form intellectuals of the highest level, capable of contributing to the development of science through research in different areas related to Psychology. The postulant must complete 400 hours of courses related to his study subject and 100 hours of courses in Methodology of scientific research and Epistemology, and  aprove the public examination of his Thesis. The candidate that has already done postgraduate courses, can apply for their accreditation for the Doctorate, as long as they fulfill the required conditions.
MASTER IN PSYCHOANALYSIS
Academic degree: Mg in Psychoanalysis
This career has the general purpose of offering an excellency level in the specific domain of the Psychoanalytical theory, and promote the actualization of the discipline in relation to other fields of knowledge, such as Logics, Topology, Philosophy, Lingüistics, Literary critics, History, Cultural Anthropology and Sociology. There are also specific purposes:
1. To enlarge and deepen the knowledge obtained in the grade.
2. To offer the students a powerful tool of analysis that can be applied in the study of different disciplines.
3. To improve the student´s ability for high quality scientific research.
SPECIALIZATION IN COGNITIVE PSYCHOTHERAPY
(INDIVIDUAL, COUPLE, FAMILY AND GROUP).

Academic degree: Specialist in Cognitive Psychotherapy.
Directed to Psychologists and Psychiatrists, the general purpose is the development of therapeutic skills from a cognitive point of view. Students will obtain updated knowledge in cognitive psychology and will carry out supervised practices to master skills necessary to:
1. Understand human mind and behaviour, both functional and disfunctional, integrating the biological, psychological and social perspectives.
2. Apply this knowledge to the psychological assistance of individuals, couples, families and groups.
SPECIALIZATION IN COMMUNITY AND INSTITUTIONAL GERONTOLOGY
Academic degree: Specialist in Community and Institutional Gerontology.
Directed to students that have obtained grade degrees in careers of not less than 4 years length. The aim is to offer an updated and specific knowledge and skills in community and institutional gerontology, and an intensive training in research and intervention in this area of Psychology. This career is dictated in a joint program with the Ministry of Social Development.
